19.01.07. Test Report: Jerez, Spain.
After a winter break, the first test of 2007 took place at Jerez, Spain. Anthony drove the SAF1 Team Interim Car on the first two days, with team-mate Takuma Sato taking over for the third and final day. The weather for the duration of the test was dry and sunny.
The SAF1 Team had a productive test, with Anthony commenting: “It was a very successful test for us in Jerez. On the two days that I drove we managed to improve our traction control and continue learning about the new Bridgestone Potenza tyres. We made further progress on the balance of the car and the Honda engine was reliable once again, so we were able to cover 259 laps over the two days.”
Sporting Director Graham Taylor summed up: “We have had a very satisfying test this week with the car displaying impressive reliability. Taku had a good day today, picking up from where Anthony left off, helping with the development of the control systems and furthering our understanding of the Bridgestone Potenza tyre. The team is already looking forward to our next test in Valencia in two weeks.”
