FORMULA 1: 2000 – PRESENT

In December 2000 Anthony signed a contract with the Lucky Strike BAR F1 Team, joining the team’s young driver programme.  At the end of 2001 Anthony completed a test with the team at the Mugello circuit in Italy, following which he was signed as official test driver for the 2002 season.

During 2002 Anthony competed at the Hungarian and Belgian Grands Prix with the Minardi Asiatech F1 Team, as a substitute for its regular driver.

In 2003 Anthony remained with the Lucky Strike BAR F1 Team as official test driver.  During the same year, as a result of an agreement between the team and the Prodrive company, Anthony was also able to compete in three GT endurance races – including the 24 Hour Le Mans and the Sebring 12 hour race - in the Ferrari 550 GTS Maranello.

During 2004 Anthony stepped up to become third and reserve driver for the Lucky Strike BAR F1 Team, and was able to take part in the Friday practice sessions at Grand Prix weekends.

Due to the team finishing 2nd in the constructors title, Anthony was unable to take part in Friday practice sessions during 2005 (only teams finishing outside of the top four in the Championship were allowed to run three cars) but still attended every race in his role as reserve driver for the team.  On one occasion, at the Malaysian Grand Prix, Anthony substituted for team-mate Takuma Sato, but an oil leak ended his race after just 3 laps.

Resuming his role of third and reserve driver for Honda Racing F1 in 2006, Anthony was again able to showcase his ability on Fridays at race weekends, and in November 2006 signed with the Super Aguri F1 Team as race driver for the 2007 season.

Following a stong 2007 season, Anthony was confirmed by the SAF1 TEAM as race driver for the 2008 F1 Championship.
