FORMULA FORD: 1999 - 2000
At the end of 1999 Anthony made the move from professional kart racing to single seater car racing, driving a Formula Ford with Ray Cars and winning his first six races - all from pole position. Anthony joined Haywood Racing, and went on to become Winter Series Champion in Formula Ford Zetec. The following year, Anthony finished third in the Formula Ford TOCA Championship, and at the end of 2000 won the prestigious Formula Ford Festival World Cup. Anthony’s achievements in Formula Ford led to his nomination for the McLaren/Autosport Young Driver Of The Year Award, which he won and was awarded in December 2000.
